This specification applies to micanite for commutator segments of reliable commercial quality supplied either as sheets or as segment separators cut to size. Two grades of micanite are recognized, namely, “ordinary” and “soft”. In cases where the micanite is specified by the pruchaser to be covered with a thin jap paper on one or both sides, this specification shall be applicable to the micanite before the paper is applied.
